Listen to Jamie’s sermon on the Importance of Vision. Jamie shares the vision of our church and four key elements that we’ll be focusing on in this sermon series: Vision, Mission, Culture, and Structure. This sermon focuses on why vision is important for our lives, using examples from the lives of Paul and Nehemiah. Jamie identifies four stages that we may experience when we receive vision: the spirits prompting, certain uncertainty, predictable resistance, and uncommon clarity.
Listen to Jamie’s sermon titled Mission Possible. This follows on from last week’s sermon on Vision. Jamie talks about how all Christians have been commissioned to be missionaries by Jesus, but we cannot share the love of God until we have been transformed by the love of God. Jamie gives examples from Jesus’ life of what mission looks like and challenges to think about how we can live this out in our own settings.
Jamie follows on from his sermons on vision and mission by talking about the importance of culture. He begins by posing the question ‘Is there more of the church culture in the world or is there more of the world in the church culture?’. Jamie talks about the culture that we’d need to cultivate in order to fulfil God’s mission for us, as well as the importance of the five-fold ministry within church.
In this sermon, Jamie talks about the importance of persistence in prayer. Jamie shares his own examples as well as reading from the book of Daniel, to encourage us to not give up praying. Jamie talks about delayed answered prayer and ‘waiting seasons’ being about intimacy rather than inactivity. He gives us four reasons to keep on praying when there’s no answer: it helps you focus on God, clarifies your requests, prepares you for the answer, and strengthens your faith.
In this sermon, Jamie challenges us to think about how we are spending our time and what we give our time to as Christians.
In this sermon, Jamie talks about what it means to be bold in our faith and challenges us to be bold in our own lives.
