Church Building Project

Our New Church Building

We have completed the purchase of Balshagray Victoria Park Church from the Church of Scotland. This has a large sanctuary, along with a kitchen, two large halls and various other rooms; an  incredible building with great potential.

The building has been empty for close on two years and is suffering from water ingress and in need of considerable renovation and restoration work before we are able to move into it for services, or to use it to outreach into the local community.

The restoration project is underway and this work includes

  • Replacing all roof leadwork
  • Fixing roof leaks and replacing rotten timbers
  • Fix leaking drains and renew/replace guttering and downpipes as required
  • Dry Rot treatment for the sanctuary and adjoining halls
  • Remove pews and under-pew heating and install replacement Eco friendly heating system
  • Divide existing large hall into two to increase capacity for more simultaneous groups
  • General refurbishment and redecoration
  • Other work may include
    • Disabled toilet at sanctuary level
    • Increase size of vestibule to create a welcome area separate from the sanctuary
    • Create extra office space/space for youth work

Why have a building?

We have been blessed as a church to meet at Notre Dame High School since 2000. However, in order to grow and make a greater impact in Glasgow, we believe it’s time to have a building of our own. Having a building will give us more freedom to host events and increase our opportunities as a church to show God’s love practically and spiritually to our local community. We have also felt prompted by God, through various prophetic words, to take this step of faith in owning our own building.

What could we do with this building?

  • Host parent and toddlers’ groups
  • Expand our compassion ministry
  • Weddings
  • Regular baptism services
  • Run Alpha and Discipleship courses
  • Hold Conferences
  • Host community outreach events
  • Parties and fundraisers
  • Midweek youth events
  • And so much more...

Our Vision

  • To bring life to our city and beyond by training, equipping and releasing people into mission and their God-given purposes.
  • To build something more permanent that will leave a legacy for future generations.
  • To see lives transformed by Jesus and demonstrate radical compassion through outreach.
