History tells us that significant moves of God take place when Christ’s followers become passionate about prayer and cry out for God’s intervention to bring about change in society and the world. In the next in our series on ‘Prayer that Changes Things’, Jamie looks at the call to be passionate about prayer. Jamie identifies six things in our lives that kill our passion for prayer and offers seven steps that will help us have a more passionate prayer life. Jamie also goes on to identify that when we engage with God in prayer, the first thing God wants to change is us. Prayer is not meant to be safe, bless me, bless others, bless the world… We are called to pray dangerous, life changing prayers; ‘Search my Heart’, ‘Know my anxious thoughts’, ‘Uncover my Sin’, ‘Lead me in the way everlasting’. (Ps 139:23). Are we willing to open ourselves up to God and allow Him to speak into our lives? Do we trust Him enough? Do we trust that He is Good and always Good? If we are and if we do, then God will take us on an amazing journey of discovery…
